  • From public or official sources: where relevant to qualification, compliance, fraud prevention, or another lawful business purpose.

Background checks, recordings, medical information, biometric information, and similar activities may be subject to separate notice, authorization, consent, or other requirements. This Policy does not replace those requirements.

  • Carrying out another purpose disclosed at collection or authorized as required by law.

Where consent or another specific authorization is required, this Policy does not substitute for it.

How does Caravan handle sensitive information?

Sensitive information is handled according to its purpose, the applicable relationship, and legal requirements.

For example, identification and financial information may be needed for driver qualification, employment administration, payroll, payment, or compliance. Location information may be involved in dispatch, shipment visibility, equipment management, and safety.

Access and disclosure should be limited to the people and providers who need the information for the relevant purpose.

Applicable law may require consent, additional notice, or an opportunity to limit particular uses. Those requirements apply independently of this Policy.

With whom does Caravan disclose personal information?

Depending on the activity, information may be disclosed to:

Service providers. Providers supporting website hosting, communications, chat, technical monitoring, business software, fleet operations, screening, payroll, benefits, accounting, payment processing, document storage, and professional services.

Transportation and business participants. Customers, shippers, consignees, brokers, facilities, operational partners, and other parties needing information to arrange, perform, document, or support a shipment or transaction.

Employment and benefits participants. Providers and administrators involved in recruiting, qualification, compensation, benefits, insurance, and lawful employment administration.

Professional advisers and insurers. Attorneys, accountants, auditors, insurers, claims administrators, and other advisers supporting legitimate business needs.

Authorities and other legally authorized recipients. Government agencies, courts, law enforcement, and other recipients where disclosure is required or permitted by law, including for safety, investigations, claims, or protection of legal rights.

Business transaction participants. Relevant parties and advisers in connection with a proposed or completed merger, financing, reorganization, or transfer of business assets, subject to applicable confidentiality and legal requirements.

Recipients you authorize. Other parties where you direct the disclosure or provide required consent.

The information disclosed depends on the recipient’s role and the purpose involved.

Does Caravan use cookies and similar technologies?

The Website uses Wix hosting and website functionality, including chat. Website services can use cookies, local storage, session identifiers, logs, and similar technologies to support security, page delivery, preferences, communications, and technical performance.

Services supporting analytics or marketing, where used, may involve additional identifiers and information about interactions. Third-party features may permit their providers to collect information over time and across different websites or services.

You can manage many cookies through your browser settings. Blocking or deleting cookies may affect Website functionality. A browser setting does not necessarily control information already collected or every technology used by an embedded service.

Traditional browser “Do Not Track” settings are separate from Caravan’s email privacy-request process. Caravan does not treat a traditional Do Not Track signal as a request submitted through that process. To communicate your preferences or submit a request, email privacy@caravanlogisticsllc.com.

Legally recognized opt-out preference signals, such as Global Privacy Control, are distinct from traditional Do Not Track settings. Their legal effect depends on applicable law and the processing involved.

Information about the platform provider’s practices is available in the Wix Privacy Policy and Wix cookie information.

What about advertising and privacy choices?

Some privacy laws define “sale,” “sharing,” or “targeted advertising” broadly. Certain advertising-related disclosures can fall within those definitions even without a monetary payment.

Where applicable law provides an opt-out right concerning processing involving Caravan, you may submit a request to privacy@caravanlogisticsllc.com.

This Policy does not waive any consent, opt-out, or other requirement that applies to a particular disclosure or technology.

How can you review information or submit a privacy request?

Email privacy@caravanlogisticsllc.com with the subject “Privacy Request.”

Include:

  • Your name and a suitable reply address.
  • Your state or country of residence.
  • Your relationship with Caravan.
  • The information or activity concerned.
  • The request you wish to make.

You may ask about information concerning you, request correction, communicate a privacy preference, or exercise a right provided by applicable law.

Do not include passwords, full Social Security numbers, full payment-card numbers, or unnecessary identification documents in your initial email.

We may request information reasonably necessary to locate relevant records, establish authority, or verify identity. Verification requirements depend on the request and applicable law; verification will not be required where the law prohibits it.

Authorized representatives may submit requests where permitted. Appropriate evidence of authority may be required.

Requests are evaluated under applicable law, including relevant exemptions and recordkeeping obligations. If a request cannot be fulfilled, applicable explanations and appeal information will be provided.

You may also use an unsubscribe mechanism included in a marketing communication or email us to request that marketing messages stop. Essential employment, shipment, account, safety, or legal communications may still be necessary.

How long does Caravan retain information?

Retention depends on the information, its purpose, and applicable obligations.

Relevant criteria include:

  • Whether an inquiry, application, shipment, transaction, or business relationship remains active.
  • The time reasonably needed for customer support, operational administration, and related follow-up.
  • Transportation, driver qualification, safety, employment, payroll, tax, accounting, and other recordkeeping requirements.
  • Contractual obligations, insurance requirements, audits, disputes, investigations, and legal holds.
  • The information’s sensitivity and the consequences of unnecessary retention.

Website and technical information is retained according to its operational, security, and troubleshooting purposes. Employment and transportation records may require different periods because of their legal and business context.

When information is no longer needed, it is deleted or deidentified as appropriate, subject to lawful retention requirements. Information in backups or preserved records remains subject to applicable protections and retention constraints.

How is personal information protected?

We apply reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards appropriate to the information and activity.

No website, transmission method, or storage system can guarantee absolute security. You should protect your credentials, use secure devices, and avoid submitting unnecessary sensitive information through ordinary email or general Website forms.

Report a suspected privacy or information-security issue to privacy@caravanlogisticsllc.com.

Does this Policy cover children?

The Website is intended for business users and prospective applicants, rather than children under 13. We do not knowingly solicit personal information from children under 13 through the Website.

Information about dependents or beneficiaries may be involved in lawful employment and benefits administration. That information is handled according to its particular purpose and applicable requirements.

If you believe a child has submitted information through the Website inappropriately, contact privacy@caravanlogisticsllc.com.

Where may information be processed?

Caravan is based in the United States. Information may be processed in the United States and other locations where relevant service providers operate, subject to applicable legal requirements.

Your use of the Website does not, by itself, waive protections or constitute consent to a transfer where separate consent is legally required.

What about third-party services?

Third-party websites, recruiting platforms, applications, and other services may have their own privacy notices.

This Policy describes Caravan’s handling of personal information. It does not replace another organization’s notice for processing that organization controls.

Review the relevant notice when following a link or providing information directly to a third party.

How will changes to this Policy be communicated?

We may update this Policy as our activities or legal requirements change. The revised version will display an updated effective or revision date.

Material changes will be communicated through a prominent Website notice or another appropriate method, such as email where suitable. Additional notice or consent will be provided when required by law.
